Last year in Hertfordshire, ChildLine received 3243 landline calls from local children. This year is the 30th anniversary of the service being launched and the NSPCC have asked local companies to join a new initiative in support of their vital work.
Over the last year DCUK FM have helped the local NSPCC centre with Christmas presents and Easter eggs. So as soon as we heard about this campaign we wanted to help again.
The campaign is called 30 for 30 and the idea is simple – 30 local companies each raising £2,000 for ChildLine in its 30th year. £2,000 represents the cost of recruiting and training each new ChildLine volunteer counsellor and the first 100 calls they receive.
“Our ChildLine service has been here for every child for thirty years and countless children in Hertfordshire have been helped by our volunteer counsellors in that time. We are celebrating that but at the same time we know this is also a time to look to the future and we need to raise the funds that are vital to ensure this service is here for the next generation too.” Local NSPCC Fundraising Manager, Jacqui Venters
