The cleaning of ductwork is not only a legal requirement but it is also integral to maintaining a safe and healthy environment. If not kept clean, grease extraction ductwork poses a significant health risk, not only to internal personnel, but also to the building itself, and grease deposits are a potential fuel for fire allowing for the quick spreading of a fire throughout the ductwork systems and into other areas of the building. The ventilation industry has historically had areas that are difficult to access and areas of high risk for our staff within confined spaces, therefore with that in mind;
DCUK FM pride ourselves on being at the forefront of our industry and are pleased to announce the purchase of the Tegras i-Foam system, which was purchased some months ago and field trialled on various suitable contracts, with total success. This system is revolutionary in its cleaning methods, it mixes the chemical for the operator and allows the application of foam within the ventilation system to mitigate the requirement for confined space works. The foam is applied using a low-pressure lance which removes the most stubborn areas of grease. By using this system, DCUK FM have been able to clean systems in full, where previous access limitations have been recorded due to the design and layout of the system. We are pleased to have purchased and issued this equipment to a large number of our field teams who now leave our clients sites 100% clean.
DCUK FM operate a ‘right first time’ policy and by having this equipment we are confident all areas are accessed and cleaned to TR/19 standards in the UK.
