The long awaited LPS-2084, went live on Wednesday the 23rd of May. The Standard defines the LPCB requirements for the approval of companies carrying out inspection, cleaning and maintenance of ductwork systems that may be contaminated with combustible deposits. DCUK FM are recognised on page 3 as a contributor to the writing/content of the document.
The purpose of the scheme is to ensure that companies that are listed as Red Book approved maintenance companies are audited and approved to carry out the services defined in the standard, namely;
The standard is of great importance, from training through to cleaning, reporting and record keeping, including areas of a system not accessed and therefore not cleaned. These will be auditable by BRE Global on an annual basis with the Auditors specifically looking for a demonstrable record keeping system for all areas covered in the standard.
DCUK FM welcome the new initiative and are already committed to the process and will hopefully be one of the first Approved Companies listed in the Red Book.
