Congratulations to our Contracts Manager, Mark Stottor who has completed his Spanish Adventure to raise money for Help For Heroes. Mark cycled from his home in Northlew, Devon and completed approximately 600 miles in 10days, all the way to La Zenia, on the Costa Blanca, Spain.
Mark arrived in La Zenia at 3pm on the 6th June 2012 after starting his final day at 6:50am covering 89 miles in one day. Mark experienced many challenging factors including pot holes, bad roads, mountains, forest roads, more mountains, exhaustion, another mountain, canyons, and a rainwater tunnel under a motorway where the sunglasses came off and he sang his way through it hoping to scare off any critters.
Mark has raised £625 online so far with more raised off line yet to be added, thereafter DCUK have pledged to match whatever the final figure is for the worthy cause; Help For Heroes who provide support to those wounded, sick or injured in the line of duty since 9/11. To date, H4H has funded a variety of projects including the £8m Rehabilitation Complex at Headley Court, a new £3.5m treatment centre for Combat Stress, adaptive adventure training through the Battle Back programme and the creation of a £6m Quick Reaction Fund to support individuals in need.
