DCUK FM recently underwent our annual Integrated Management System accreditation audit by NQA. As part of the audit we successfully transitioned from OHSAS 18001 to the new ISO 45001:2018 standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management without any non-conformities. A significant achievement.
The Compliance Team have been gradually preparing for the transition over the last two years by adapting the management system and aligning processes and policies. The successful transition enables us to have a truly integrated management system which harmonises of the four pillars of health and safety, quality, environmental and data security.
The new standard has a very strong focus on senior management providing a leadership role in occupational health and safety management, understanding the expectations and needs of a wide spectrum interested parties beyond our own business and identifying and controlling the risks associated with our business activities rather than the hazards.
The focus of the standard fits perfectly with DCUK FM’s well established business ethos of providing a healthy and safe working environment for our staff, suppliers, customers and visitors through effective and clear direction, encouraging participation across the workforce and collaborating with our customers and suppliers.
Congratulations to all that were involved with the recent NQA audit.
