In what has been a turbulent and unsettled year due to the COVID -19 pandemic, acts of kindness are needed more than ever before. For those living in poverty, this year has been exceptionally challenging, while most families overindulge in festivities, thousands of young children experience heightened anxiety, neglect, and isolation during the holiday. Approximately 33,000 children in London are at risk of not receiving any presents at all this Christmas.
With Christmas around the corner DCUK FM wanted to our bit and are appealing for your help too.
With the help of a small independent toy shop, Happy Returns in London, we are donating £2000 worth of toys to The Childhood Trust, helping to provide presents for children living in poverty in London who won’t otherwise receive anything for Christmas.
This year, due to Covid-19, the appeal has become completely virtual with all presents needing to be purchased in the online store.
Please give a gift to a vulnerable child in need this Christmas. The children are currently being cared for by foster parents, in residential care homes, in refuges, in hospitals, or are children from low-income families.
