DCUK FM were awarded the contract for carrying out the HTM-03.01 / HVCA TR/19 and NADCA Compliant inspection; surveying; balance testing and cleaning of hospital Laboratories Critical Ventilation System Air Handling Units, Supply, Extract and Recirculation Ductwork, Vents and Grilles and LEV’s.
Pre & Post Digital and written Survey reports were made, these mapped all systems, provided pre and post digital images; test reports carried out and detailed all findings. The data was uploaded on to DCUK FM VMP (Ventilation Management Program) and the Hospital were provided with their own secure log-in password to access, download, store and print all data.
Summary of works:
Out of hours work shift patterns
All Air Handling Unit primary air intakes, discharges and plenum chambers were cleaned.
All supply, extract and recirculation ductwork was traced identifying the location and type of all In-Line fire dampers, smoke detectors and volume control dampers, dampers were left in an “as marked” position.
Microbiological Plate Tests were taken from all AHU’s and ducting, the plates were sent to an independent laboratory who cultivated the plates and provided plate reports, the reports were provided to the client. The plate results passed validation of DCUK FM cleaning.
Each system was then balance tested, results revealed the entire systems were out of balance and the root cause of failing air changes, volume flow rates and pressure differentials.
