Rochdale Boroughwide Housing approached DCUK FM to attend a site visit and discuss issues they had with the potential cleaning works of the communal bathroom extract system as the ductwork was manufactured from asbestos.
After discussions on site, we subsequently put forward a proposal for the cleaning works. These proposals included the cleaning systems which were suitable this type of work, whilst ensuring the cleaned ductwork was made safe for future operation.
Rochdale Boroughwide housing embraced these proposals and awarded the contract to DCUK FM.
Summary of works:
During the cleaning works all tenants were able to remain in their flat while the cleaning operations took place, causing minimum disruption without risk.
Due to the length of the contract, DCUK FM took on the role of principal contractor and provided all necessary information, health and safety plan waste management plan, programme etc.
DCUK FM also performed the role of tenant liaison officer and arranged all required access to every property.
The roof ductwork on each building was in very poor condition due to its age and exposure to the elements. Therefore the existing systems, five per building were all removed and replaced with new ductwork
