DCUK FM utilise their specialist directly employed building division to ensure the safe installation and maintenance of Fire Doors within your premises.
Fire Doors perform a critical role in the fire management of a building by preventing the spread of smoke and fire and completing fire compartmentation of areas. Fire doors are designed to protect escape routes, so that people can evacuate safely, protect the building and its contents (an insurance requirement) and also to allow firefighters to extinguish the fire as safely as possible. If Fire Doors do not operate effectively the building and its occupants can be put at significant risk.
DCUK FM is approved by LPCB to LPS1271 standard for ‘Fire and Security Door and shutter installers’ under Certificate No.1276, as listed in LPCB Redbooklive.
Fire Doors installation and maintenance requires the selection of suitable products, inclusive of hinges, door sets, frames and intumescent strips which have the potential to deteriorate or become damaged over time.
In order to meet the requirements of this accreditation, we are required to pass an annual office audit and various site audits as evidence that fire doors are installed compliantly. The recently published Hackitt Report focuses on companies installing Fire Doors to use approved products, installed to an accredited standard by trained, competent staff. The LPS1271 Scheme goes some way to demonstrating this and will satisfy the criteria for the new Building Safety Regulator implemented following the Grenfell disaster on June 2017, who work directly under the remit of the HSE.
Regular inspections and Fire Door maintenance are a requirement of fire safety regulations, and the engineers at DCUK FM are fully qualified to complete such maintenance inspections. Whether a hospital, office, school or other commercial property, DCUK FM can perform one-off or regular testing of Fire Doors, checking for correct operation through an innovative mobile application, providing efficiency on-site and compliant transparency to the client. Our engineers test all mechanical components, such as hinges, push bars, push pads, fire safe letterboxes, handles and more, as well as testing intumescent seals for excessive deterioration.
DCUK FM operate nationwide, offering Fire Door maintenance to all sectors whilst providing a bespoke platform that delivers a full report, that includes remedial actions, asset register and photographic evidence for full client integration.
